GigaMove
Access and security
This service is made available to all members of the DFN association by RWTH Aachen and is therefore subject to the DFN's security guidelines.
In particular, this means that every uploaded file is checked for viruses so that the university network is protected from the spread of viruses. Furthermore, the authentication and authorization of the data providers takes place in accordance with the rules of the DFN-AAI; i.e. in particular, that the authentication of the data provider is carried out by the respective institution (university, college, ...) and so the user-password combination does not leave the institution.
Data exchange in two directions
With GigaMove, data exchange can be initiated from two directions:
Provide file: the file is uploaded and GigaMove then generates a corresponding download link. Optionally, the download can be secured with a password, which in this case must also be communicated to the person who performs the download.
Request file: a link is generated that leads to the file upload using a form.
The links generated by the above process can then be sent to one or more recipients by email.
