Conferences with DFNconf

The DFNconf service is primarily designed for video conferences. The maximum number of participants is limited to 23 people. A parallel chat for all participants is also available.

DFNconf can be used on your local computer using a web browser or software client, with the latest smartphones or with high-quality video conference systems.

In addition to transmitting images from your own webcam or computer screen, you can also upload PDF or image files that you want to show.

It is also possible to take part in a conference using a normal telephone or to organize pure audio or telephone conferences using the service.

Web meetings with Adobe Connect

In addition to audio and video conferences, Adobe Connect can also be used to hold web meetings, webinars and online courses with up to 200 participants. Online collaboration between members of geographically distributed research groups or students in seminars, exercises, group work and lectures, i.e. the scenario of a “virtual classroom”, is possible.

Who is authorized to use it?

The ITS provides the DFN conference service DFNconf & Adobe Connect for members of the University of Bayreuth. Every employee is authorized to create a meeting. In exceptional cases, guest lecturers or students can also become meeting organizers.

But everyone - not just members of the university - can take part in meetings.

How do I create meeting rooms?

After registering as an organizer using the log-in button, an account is created. There you can create meeting rooms and prepare invitations to the relevant participants. They do not need their own account to participate, but can also come from institutions that are not part of the DFN Association's circle of participants, e.g. industrial partners or international discussion partners.

A meeting room is created using a uniform, product-independent interface. Here you have the option of adapting your meeting room to your specific requirements.

In the DFNconf organizer portal you create and manage the meeting rooms for DFNconf. Here you will also find access to the Adobe Connect portal after logging in.

With the DFN Scheduler, the DFN association provides a data protection-friendly and data-saving alternative to Doodle. You can conduct an appointment poll or any other type of voting.
